Shirley Cole
Ms. Shirley Cole Barton is a graduate of Southern University with a B.A. in Marketing/Business Administration. She is also a graduate of Northwestern State University with a B.A. in Elementary Education. Ms. Barton is the mother of two sons and one daughter. She has taught at Turner Elementary / 6th Grade Academy for 19 years.

Darlene Cannatella
Mrs. Darlene Cannatella has been teaching for seven years at Turner. She has taught first grade for six years. She graduated from LSU in Shreveport. Mrs. Cannatella has been married for 35 years and has three children. (Christopher, Erica, and Jacob)

Dardanella Powell
Mrs. Dardanella Hamilton Powell graduated from Xavier University New Orleans Louisiana. She received her Master's degree from Chicago State, Reading Certification from Louisiana Tech and trained in phonics by Dr. Romalda Spaulding in the Spaulding Method. Mrs. Powell taught three years in Washington D.C. and two years at Shreve Island. She has been teaching at Turner for 12 years. She is a life time learner and enjoys attending technology and educational workshops. She also, loves to teach, cook, sew, travel, attend family events, read at church, and make pralines.
