Gavina Abner, ELA

Mrs. Gavina Abner-Hines is a mother of one child, my Taija, she's eleven years old. She currently teach 6th grade English Language Arts at Turner Elementary and Sixth Grade Academy. She obtained her B.A. from Dillard University, Masters from Walden University, plus 30 from Capella University and is currently writing her dissertation to obtain her doctorate degree concentrating in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Abner-Hines is also a National Board Certified Teacher. This is her eighteenth year with Caddo Parish.

Sarah Ferbos, MATH

Ms. Sarah Ferbos, originally from New Orleans, Louisiana received her Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from Southern University and Master’s Degree from Loyola University. She worked for the Orleans Parish School Board for 25 years. After Hurricane Katrina she retired from Orleans Parish and worked for one year in Adams County School District in Natchez, MS. She then relocated to Caddo Parish where she was hired on as a first grade teacher at Westwood Elementary School. Ms. Ferbos also taught at Judson Elementary Magnet School teaching fourth grade science and math. She is very privileged to teach Sixth Grade Math at Turner Elementary/6th Grade Academy under the leadership of Dr. Darrell Webb, Principal.

Angela Kirkpatrick, SCIENCE

Mrs. Kirkpatrick graduated from Caddo Magnet High School in 1992, then graduated from Louisiana State University in Shreveport in 1996 with a Bachelor's of Arts in Education.  She taught elementary school for 7 years.  During this time I taught Kindergarten, PE, 1st grade and 3rd grade.  I decided I wanted to teach middle school and was hired by Dr. Buckingham to work at Turner Elementary/ Middle School in 2005 to teach 6th grade science.  Twelve years later, I am still at Turner Elementary/6th Grade Academy teaching 6th grade science.  I have found my home at Turner and plan to teach 6th grade science at Turner Elementary/6th Grade Academy until I retire in many more years.

Crystal Mays, SOCIAL STUDIES

Mrs. Crystal Webert Mays is a proud product of Caddo Parish Schools. She attended both Louisiana Tech University and LSU-S. She received her undergraduate degree and obtained Teacher Certification from LSU-S in 2006. Mrs. Mays is currently pursuing a Master's of Educational Leadership from Louisiana Tech University. She is married with a 14 year old freshman daughter and a 7 year old second grade son. She is also, a lifelong lover of history and other areas of social studies. Mrs. Mays sincerely believe that all children can reach their full potential when they are given genuine care and concern for both their academic and social lives.
